Welcome Blythwood families to a new school year! This time of year is always so busy, exciting and even overwhelming as we watch our children face new challenges. The Blythwood Parent School Council Executive Committee is working to create a smooth transition for our kids and families. We strive to create an atmosphere of support and inclusion for everyone. We are very pleased to announce the Blythwood Parent School Association website:

We consider ourselves lucky to be a part of such a wonderful community. Our school has a history of excellence in academics, athletics and community involvement. This success is the combination of effort from the principal, staff, and parent volunteers.
The Blythwood Parent School Council’s (PSC) purpose is to support and enrich the academic, athletic and social activities of the school. Feeling connected to community is important. It takes a village to raise a child, as the saying goes. So to that end, we promote school spirit; foster programs that focus on the well-being of students and hope to increase our children’s awareness of their role in the greater community.
The Parent School Association (PSA) is our charitable organization. Registered for tax purposes, its fundraising efforts have provided the school with curriculum support (e.g., chess programs and literacy and numeracy materials) and tools (e.g., computers and sports and playground equipment) that help to make Blythwood such a wonderful place to learn.
Parent involvement has and continues to be a vital part to the success of Blythwood. As Co-Chairs, we would love all parents to become involved and engaged in this effort. Whether you simply attend a PSA/C meeting to vote on a proposed budget or volunteer for events such as our Fun Fair, Talent Show, or pizza lunch your help is always needed. Parent participation is key to Blythwood’s tradition of excellence.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information about our activities, or if you would like to become involved.
