Lunch Program

A supervised lunchroom program is provided for students who eat lunch at school. We have 3 Lunchroom Supervisors and students will be eating in their classrooms this year. We have moved to a split lunch…see below.  Students are invited to bring a quiet individual activity to do at their desk once they finish eating (colouring, reading). Students are also welcome to bring individual equipment that they can store in their bag and use at the outdoor play time (and recess). Masks will be able to be removed to eat lunch, and also during outdoor play, and social distance will be encouraged.

Each student who stays for lunch is expected to bring a packed lunch and ‘Boomerang’ by returning anything uneaten back home, including recycling, food waste and garbage. Students remaining at school for lunch are expected to follow the expectations outlined below. Please review these expectations with your child/children if they are staying for lunch. We have a 65 minute lunch period to provide adequate time for students to go home, eat and have a break before afternoon entry at 12:45 p.m. Please do not bring the children back or have them walk back to the school until 12:45 pm.

If your child is leaving the school they will be exiting through the north ‘Exit’ doors. Grade 1&2 children will be released to their parents or brought to the office if parents are not in the courtyard to collect them.  If you arrive late you can pick them up by ringing the bell at the front door. Grade 3-6 children will be released and allowed to wait for parents in the courtyard or to walk home on their own as per your instructions. When returning at 12:45 pm students from Room 5, 6, 7, 15 & 16 can meet their class out in the yard. Students in Rooms 8, 9, 10A, 10B, 11, 12, 13, & 14 can ring the bell, enter through the front doors and go to class.

This year, we won’t be able to accommodate last minute requests to arrange play dates for lunch.
