WHAT HAPPENS WHEN RUNNERS GET TO EARL BALES?

1. When students arrive at Earl Bales, they will check-in at the Blythwood tent and receive a race number (except grade 1 and 2) and gather for a team photo.

2. One of our parent helpers will gather the runners before their race and walk them over to the warm up and starting area.
3. When children complete their run they will be met by one of our teachers at the finish line and walked back to the Blythwood school tent.  Please make sure your child checks in with a teacher at the finish.
4. Please do not crowd the finish area to meet your child as it is congested and can create confusion.  Please wait a bit away from the finish area or at the school tent where the teacher will bring them after they run.
5. Runners will be returning to the school by bus.  Do not take your runners out of the park.
We will have staff supervisors at the park.  Please assist our staff and remind your children not to wander too far from the Blythwood tent.

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING

Be sure to wear any Blythwood gear and your team cross-country shirt!  Shirts that were ordered will be delivered to the students in their classroom before October 7. Dress in layers and, if raining, please ensure your child has rain gear.  Runners will be able to remove extra layers just before the race at the start line.  The race is mainly grass – so your child may need a dry pair of socks / shoes after running if it is wet.  Please be sure to pack sufficient snacks / food to last your child until mid afternoon.  There is no food for sale on site. Grades 1&2 will eat a late lunch back at school. Grades 3-6 need to bring a bagged lunch and eat on site at Earl Bales.

RETURNING TO SCHOOL

Grades 1-2 will meet at the Blythwood tent by 11:30 a.m. and will return to school via TDSB school bus.
